I have an M1 MBA and I’m absolutely loving it. I would love to only use native/universal apps, but in order to use it for work I can’t get around installing some applications under Rosetta 2.
My question is: Is there any easy way to keep track of which applications on the system are native, which are universal, and which are running under Rosetta 2? I have faith that eventually most applications will get ported over, but unless you get all your software through the App Store, how can you be sure you’re staying abreast of newly released native/universal ports?
It seems like keeping a list somewhere and manually checking periodically may be the best, otherwise I could see myself forgetting about it and just wasting battery/performance long after native versions of various apps come available.
Maybe a silly thing to stress over, but hopefully others can relate. Don’t want those sub-optimal apps crapping up my system any longer than they have to. 😆
