Hi, I received a kernal panic, in which I was instructed to hold the power button and then restart. I did that, then I went to Disk Utility and tried to verify it. This is what I got:

What do I do next and what does this mean? I'm a little worried here. Thanks for the help.

Well it looks like it still mounts... thats good! Try to back it all up, if you dont have a Time MAchine Backup already. Then reformat the HD and reinstall the OS and pull stuff from your TM or backup. If there is a failure in the formatting or reinstall process, the drive is more than likely bad.

Repair the HDD as suggested by the message you posted.
Start from your installation DVD and repair the HDD.
Guide on how to use Disk Utility from the restore / installation DVD.

Really? Disk utility says otherwise and even suggests a working method, no need for a complete reinstallation yet, though backing up is always good.

How do I reformat the hard drive? Do I do that before I reinstall the OS? If there is a failure in the formatting process and the drive is bad, do I have to take it in? Sorry, I'm use to windows computers, so this is somewhat all new to me. Thanks so far for the help, it is really appreciated.
