Kernel Panic after updating DP4

Hello, everybody.

Could you please help me with this?

I have just updated my ML DP4 with this recent "Security Update" and I got a "kernel panic screen" when rebooting (during chime and apple logo).
Since then, the Macbook doesn't stop looping on this screen.

Did you try rebooting into the recovery partition?

Did you create a cloned image of your Lion (or Snow Leopard) before upgrading? That's what many developers do before loading a beta OS on their system.

Hi, maflynn...

Unfortunately I did not clone an image of my previous Lion installation.

But yes, I can boot into recovery partition. Even have checked for permissions and disk errors, but it found nothing.

Is there something I can do by now?

Do you have any backup at all? Wipe the drive, reinstall...

I don't think Apple posts all the developer release notes on Pirate Bay.

I went back to 10.7.4. And won't go ML until 10.8.3, for sure.

It's frustrating when things like this happen. Even PCs doesn't quite do this to me.

Its a developer preview, not an actual release. I find it amazing how many people are angry at the stability of an unreleased OS that that most likely don't actually have a legitimate use for or access to.

They would if you installed a beta version of the operating system. No offense OP, but you downloaded an OS that was not meant for general consumption. There is a reason why apple keeps a closed beta. Your experience is one reason why.

Most developers who do load on Mountain Lion typically clone their drive before the upgrade so they can return back to the prior OS, or even boot up off of the cloned image. I'm not trying to sound harsh, but blaming apple for this bad experience is misplaced.

Hey, everyone.

I'm not blaming Apple for this. It's just that I thought it wasn't really possible to happen, but it happened anyway. That's just a matter of settlement between my frustrations and expectations.

There's nothing I can do to change back to a stable state with ML, as I have already installed Lion again.

It really seems unnecessary for me to argue, as it so seems unnecessary for you to offer me any other answer than a technical one. So, this discussion is over.

There's much more to do in real life. My Macbook Pro operating system is not a problem anymore.
