Hi everyone,

I have a iMac G4 that I change the HD, so now has a clean HD new. I changed the battery

I switch on and does nothing, sometimes appears the logo and gets kernel panic, sometimes I enter to Open Firmware with "Invalid access memory" message. But the most cases is black screen.

I put in DVD the retail version of leopard to install it but is impossible to start via DVD.

The keyboard sometimes works and sometimes no.

Can you help me to solve that?

I attach the screens.

Thank you very much.

I'd suspect the RAM first. Can you check if the RAM is installed properly (if unsure, remove and reinsert) or try a new module? If you have the original grey discs that came with the machine, you can also run Apple Hardware Test (AHT) and see if the RAM or anything else doesn’t play ball.
