Kernel Panic -Mac Book Pro 2010

So I've been having problems with my Mac Book Pro (mid-2010) with multiple restarts ranging on average of 5 a day. I am a graphic designer and while my work is saved this is very aggravating that I have no idea how to fix. Does anyone have a solution??

V 10.11.1

MacBook Pro (15in, Mid 2010)

Your problem could be due to a variety of reasons, but the most likely would be a discrete GPU (graphics processor) that is going bad. Your MBP was the subject of a program by Apple, now ended.

If you didn't participate in the program, there's a greater likelihood that the GPU is going bad.

People have had success using gfxCardStatus to turn off the discrete GPU and using the integrated GPU. I haven't used this program so I can't vouch for it's usefulness. According to reports, some programs will force the use of the discrete GPU anyway. If you use this program and your problems go away or are significantly reduced, then your problem is the discrete GPU and there's no easy or cheap solution other than not using it.

There are some who have had success when going to an earlier OS, but if you've used 10.11.1 for a while, that is not likely to help the problem. (Note: in these cases, you still likely have GPU issues but the OS is less sensitive to it.)

You should also run the Apple Hardware Test, if possible, to see what it comes up with.

Find a board level repair expert. There are a few in every town and ask him to check c9560. Ive seen a few of these and there is a board level component that goes bad. https://mailin.repair.....these guys are a decent group but can have issues with being responsive. Its a common issue you are seeing.
