Hello -

I have a Mac Pro 5,1 2010

Model Name: Mac Pro
Model Identifier: MacPro5,1
Processor Name: 6-Core Intel Xeon
Processor Speed: 2.93 GHz
Number of Processors: 2
Total Number of Cores: 12
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB
L3 Cache (per Processor): 12 MB
Hyper-Threading Technology: Enabled
Memory: 32 GB
System Firmware Version: 9144.0.7.6.0
SMC Version (system): 1.39f11
SMC Version (processor tray): 1.39f11
Radeon RX 580
NVME PCI Drive
Inateck PCIe to USB 3.2 Gen 2 Extension Card

I have installed Big Sur using the OpenCore Patcher.

Periodically, the machine will appear as if it has rebooted. I'll come into my office and the screen is at the login screen. I have a UPS power supply and the power has not been disconnected but It will randomly reboot. Yesterday it happened while using the machine. The screen went black, no warning. I was curious if anyone could help me figure out what is going on.

Below is the report.

Kernel Panic.

There is sleep involved with this crash.

First thing I'd do is to check the BR2032 RTC battery voltage, replace it with another BR2032 if below 3V, CR2032 is not appropriated for this application.

After that, I'd test with a supported Mojave install for some days and see if the crash stops.

@robotwaffle Any update with this? Did replacing the battery help?
I did replaced the battery today.

Things to note, since posting this forum post, I did not have any further issues. One thing worth noting. I noticed that when I used my USB 3 ports, this issue seems to happen.

I have a "Inateck PCIe to USB 3.2 Gen 2 Extension Card with 5 Ports 8 Gbps Bandwidth,No External Power Source Required, RedComets U25" USB-3 Card.

I will try using the USB3 port now heavily and see if it crashes again.

Will update soon...
