Hello,

My macpro 5.1 keeps on crashing after boot. It can stay for a very long time on the login screen without issues however , it crashes after boot. I can access safe mode no problem, just very slow graphics then.
Sometimes it passes the boot and holds for an hour then crashes again.
Here is the error log if it helps:

First kernel extension in the Panic Report backtrace is the NVIDIA one, com.apple.nvidia.classic.NVDAResmanTesla(10.0.4)[F8258F0F-61AD-30F4-BDD5-B18CCAAE535A]@0xffffff7f8b6bf000->0xffffff7f8b927fff, so, it's most probable that your NVIDIA GPU is defective.

Replace the GPU and test again.

Hi there,
I replaced the GPU as per your advice but I am now encountering another problem.
I got a new sealed Gigabyte Radeon RX560 card which I am pretty sure is seated properly , the fans on the card do work when I switch the computer on. However, I get a black screen and the display doesn’t start.
I am pretty sure the card is fine. I have tried exchanging HDMI cables to no avail. Tried resetting the NVRAM but that didn’t help either….
Grrr!
I thought it might be a driver problem but I run high Sierra so it should be pre-installed isn’t it?
Is it that there might be some leftovers from the previous NVIDIA Gt120 card?
Thank you for your help !
