My MBA has been working great until today. Since 7:00 tonight I've had 7 Kernel Panics (where the screen comes up telling me to restart). There are no other issues (no shaky graphics or anything). Any idea what this might be? It seems to happen randomly. It has happened using either Safari or Firefox and has happened even just writing a Word Document. Thoughts? I will try to run the hardware test when I get back home later tonight.

You could post the report here using the code tags (
code.gif
button), when it happens again, otherwise it can be anything and we are just guessing, as many components can be causing a kernel panic, such as a bad driver (maybe a custom one?), badly written software, a bug or even hardware.
Have you installed anything lately?

I'll post the error message when it happens again. All that I have installed other than whatever it came with is Microsoft Office, Silverlight, ClicktoFlash, and Skype.

I went into the Logs and this is the report from one of them...

I'd take advantage of the phone support or genius bar if you've had 7 panics. It's probably a bad installation of something. Perhaps try resetting the PRAM and SMC.

I tried the hardware test and everything checked out. I went into the disk utility and repaired permissions (it had about 80 errors). And then verified the disk. So far it seems to be running smoothly *knocking on wood*. Hopefully that was the issue

+1.
the above procedure fixes most issues as some 3rd party installations can thwart OSX's stability.

that said, if it happens again - backup, wipe the sucker and do a fresh installation but a 'customised' one that only includes the basics.
(no X11 for example, unless you really need it)

none of this will void your warranty, and you'll for sure eliminate the software side of things.
if you get panics after that, then it's obviously a hardware fault so it's off the the Apple store.
