Is anyone experiencing kernel panics on their M1 Minis? I have read a couple of threads in early December, but nothing else about this issue - so I am wondering if it is just my setup or my particular Mac.

I have a base Mac Mini M1 running two displays. It is set to not go to sleep and have the monitors go to sleep after 10 minutes. At the end of the day I lock the screen and the screens both go to sleep soon after. I usually have to manually turn the power off on my DisplayPort monitor because every 30 seconds or so it tries to wake and then go immediately back to sleep.

On several occasions on returning in the morning I have received kernel panics after waking up the monitors with my mouse. I see the login screen and then before I can begin typing I get a kernel panic and reboot.

Just wondering if anyone else has seen this, or if it might be my individual setup.

Before uninstalling the kernel extension "Karabiner Elements" I was having a kernel panic on my M1 Mac Mini every time I tried to shut it down. Instead of a shutdown, it would end up getting a kernel panic during the shutdown and instead performing a reboot-after-kernel panic. I since learned I could use a built-in feature of MacOS to make the "Fn" key behave like the [Ctrl] key, so I no longer needed the Karabiner Elements extension since that's all I was using it for.

More recently, I have also experienced two kernel panics on screen re-wakening in "diskmanagementd" which I have reported to Apple by clicking on the (Report...) button in the dialog that appears after the reboot.

I have a M1MBA and I’ve experienced two panics when waking up the system if it’s connected to an external display. These were apparently resolved when I plugged in a USB C to HDMI cable directly into the port instead of using apple’s multiport adapter. Though l, I’ve since had two more panics but while already using the laptop. The kernel panic message has been the same for all four panics and I suspect it may be related to the Logitech dongle I was using and/ or Logitech Options. I’ve removed both to see if this resolves it.

M1 Mac Mini here connected via Display Port to my monitor.

Waking from sleep seems just fine. Although maybe once a week, my Magic keyboard or Magic Mouse act funny. Need to reboot.

But I did have one Kernel Panic while watching a YouTube video. The machine just rebooted. I’m the most vanilla user as well, I only use the in built Apple apps

Likely a coincidence, but one of my kernel panics also occurred when watching YouTube !

I haven't had any issues when using the computer, but I wonder if its happening overnight because ive woken up multiple times now to it wanting my password to "enable Touch ID" as if its restarted, unless Touch ID has its own timeout idk.
