Hi all

I've noticed over the past few weeks quite often (but not always) when I wake my MPB from sleep it will have a message that the computer has restarted because of a problem. At first I thought it was because a couple of times the battery had died whilst it was sleeping but its happened again today when its been on charge the whole time.

I did some searching and found https://discussions.apple.com/thread/251234368 which seems similar but not sure if its a fix as such.

I've pasted the information from the resort below - I've only had the machine around 5 months its the 2019 16" - wondering if anyone can tell from nay info below if it seems a hardware issue or software.

Thanks

Marc

Some are reporting that 10.15.5 solves the kernel panic after sleep issue for them.

Yeah I had high hopes for this update... to no avail.
Crashed pretty soon after the update just the same.

BTW I've been able to avoid crashes for a while now: the trick was to only use my MacBook Pro (2015) connected to a thunderbolt hub (and power adapter ofc). So yesterday I've finally tried to use my laptop as an actual portable computer, removed it from its tethers and not long after it crashed (no sleep/wake required).

Mind you, I never had any kernel panic issues with my work MacBook Pro (2017).

For me since I did the 10.15.5 update I'm yet to have a kernel panic touch wood - haven't disabled power nap yet but will keep an eye on it.

My macbook air was randomly restarting after it went to sleep and gave me this kernel panic error. None of the fixes in various advice columns worked for me. I finally fixed the problem myself. The problem had to do with the configuration of peripherals I was using in the two usb-c ports. I was using a hub to connect my trackpad and some other devices as well as the power cable. I used the second port for a connector to my monitor. This is what caused the problem. When I changed things around so that the power goes directly to one port and all the other peripherals go to the other port, that fixed the problem. I hope this helps others!
