Hello All,
Periodically (few times a day) while I am working on my mac it begins to slow down to a crawl... Specs are the following:
Late 2016
2.9 GHz I7
16 GB Ram
Radeon 460
10.12.3

The slow downs seem to occur at random... Doesn't seem to happen with any particular program sometimes I'll be running parallels, sometimes just the mac side, sometimes office app, some times Photos, sometimes multiple apps, and sometimes just a single app.

When I go to Activity Monitor I see the following

Kernel Task hogging my CPU. Any thought on how I can figure out what is causing this... Found a few other threads and none of the fixes applied to me. Thanks in advance.

Are you using the computer on your lap? It doesn't seem like you're running heavy tasks, but kernel task will "hog" CPU time to manage temperatures sometimes. It doesn't actually run calculations, just prevents other ones intermittently to let the processor cool down.
