Hello guys,

I am experiencing kernel panics on my cMP. I know there are a lot of threads about this, but as far as I know these kinda things are build specific so I'm hoping someone out there could help me finding the problem as I am not too into these things. My guess would be my VGA which is an R9 290X Sapphire. It boots, it works, but uncertain times the screen starts to jump then it goes black. From there nothing helps only force shutdown. Usually it happens when I play LoL on it ( that's the only game I play), but sometimes it happens on the desktop as well, or browsing the web. It is connected via 2x mini 6 to 6+2.

The strange thing is that I have a GTX 980Ti as well. When I replace the Radeon to the GTX the problem is gone. It never happens with the 980Ti. I saved some of the panic logs the system gave me after reboots, I can't see any sign of problem related to the gpu.

I also tried removing the Nvidia drivers. Still there are panics.

Please if you discover something that can cause these panics, let me know (I haven't stated all the specs of my rig as it is in the 'logs').

Sorry, couldnt resist ;)

The GPU is identified as HD 8xxx in the panic report .....
Just saw that this issue was already explained here by @h9826790 (post #4)......

Btw: if you're running High Sierra , why not simply use the GTX980Ti ? It's an excellent GPU and outperforms the R9 290 .........?‍♂️
