Can I use any USB keyboard and mouse with an iMac?
The default Apple one, is a little difficult to get used to.

Yes, most keyboards and mice should work fine. I recommend to get a Mac keyboard though, I don't like looking at a Windows key.

Yup, I've stopped using the wireless keyboard that was included and I have my favorite USB model.

Have a look at ebay , I got a M9034B/A Apple USB keyboard for $25 and its a beauty , a bit of stripping and cleaning and its like new with a real keyboard action I love it!!!
