This afternoon the keyboard and trackpad on my 15" MBP stopped working.

When I start up, it goes looking for a Bluetooth mouse or keyboard (presumably because it can't find its own). Works fine with external mouse and keyboard.

Tried resetting the SMU (power off, battery out, power button for 5 seconds) but it hasn't made any difference.

Software all bang up to date.

Any ideas?

It sounds like it is a problem with the logic board if you still are under warranty take it in to a repair center or apple store, to get it fixed.

It is under warranty - the headphone socket has ceased working too, so I think you're right. Back it goes...

Exact same thing happened to me, only the headphone port happened a week later. Apple replaced the top case, and made modifications to chips on the logic board.
