Greetings,

I am an Android convert. Just purchased an iPad Air 4. Extremely impressed with the device, the ecosystem and support. I use the device in landscape mode. I have small hands and noticed that you can't split a keyboard (thumb mode).

I've tried default, Gboard and SwiftKey. Gboard seems easiest, but still quite a stretch.

-just wondering why

-is there a way to work around this

-can you suggest a keyboard app that would be more suitable for small hands

Thanks in advance,
Graham

I’m not sure my iPad is not in front of me, but I think if you perform a pinch on the big keyboard you’ll get a mini phone sized one pop out, but it’s not split, you just put it in the corner and use your thumb. I’m sure there used to be a split keyboard option somewhere but I can’t remember how to activate it.

Edit* here it is, but for some inane reason, it’s not available on the pro models ?

Thanks cup, I'll check it out. I don't think the split keyboard is available in the iPad Air 4. I was hoping there was an unofficial way to activate it.

Thanks cup. Would rather avoid that. Hey Automatic, could you elaborate on the few exceptions? By the way, I tried the floating miniature keyboard. That was too small even for me ?
