I have only been stupid enough to not charge my MBP twice. Each time though after it gets done doing the "you were stupid and did not charge your battery" restore I have no use of the keyboard. The track pad works just fine, but the keyboard is totally not active. (I.E. No keystrokes, no caps lock light nothing.
This is kind of annoying, as I like that the MBP dumps everything in RAM to the hard drive incase of power loss, but having to restart it anyway to get the keyboard working is kind of silly. Has anyone else had this issue?

exact same thing happened to me. eventually, the "you need to restart the computer by holding down the power button" message came up. i did that and it was fine, but got the same message again the next time i woke it from sleep. however it has been fine since then.

I encounter the same problem when I use the Deep Sleep widget which sleeps the computer in the same way as it would if it had run out of battery (I think).

I read the documentation and it says that the keyboard may become disabled if text is entered too soon after the computer is woken up and blames the problem on the OS X kernel. This happens often to me as I use password protected sleep and is quite annoying.
