Keyboard drops away during Siri/Mic use 11.1

Hey everyone!

I searched the internet, and the forum but I haven’t found any workaround to the 11.1 new feature on Siri in the text app:

If you are in the text app and hit the siri button, the keyboard drops away and to get it back you have to click the keyboard icon floating in the lower left part of the screen:

Does anybody know if there is a way, a setting, or a tip as to how to get back to the keyboard without hitting the icon?! It’s seriously annoying and is slowing me down...

I’m sure I’ll get used to it but if I turn the phone sideways the keyboard comes back and sometimes I can click on the grey arrow icon and push back into the text area to get the keyboard back up:

Any help would be appreciated greatly. Thanks in advance and excuse me if this is being discussed and I couldn’t find the thread
