Hey guys, my friend is having trouble with her PowerMac G3. It is going insanely slow and the keyboard is in all caps and adding random letters/numbers in. I gave her instructions to reset nvram etc. That didnt work. A typical IM with her now:

Friend 1:53KERWYBOAERDFS BEROKERW
Me 1:53 huh?
Friend 1:53COMPUTER VERY VERYW SLOW

The conversation was really amusing:D

Anyways, I'm having her try Safe Boot now, though I suspect that won't work. If anyone has any idea on what to do, please do post.

Thanks in advance!!

Are the problems limited to keyboard behavior?

1. Check keyboard delay/repeat/sticky keys settings
2. Change port on keyboard
3. Move keyboard to another comp and see if results can be duplicated
4. Replace keyboard
(If it's an ADB keyboard, the port could be fried if she tried to hotplug.)
(In Keyboard & Mouse and Universal Access)
5. Reinstall OS / Try another boot volume

Just wanted to update, she bought a new keyboard and repaired permissions, and now it works great.

Thanks for your help!
