Keyboard+Mouse not working after sleep/wakeup

This has been happening for a couple of months now, I didn't have a problem with this when Yosemite was first released but now my keyboard and mouse (both connected through USB) would be unresponsive after I sleep the system and try to wake up after I get back.

Is this just me or anyone else having same problem?

Any solutions?

How are you setup?

Apple Kbd with USB Mouse connected to Kbd port, Kbd connected to USB port?

or

Kbd and Mouse into seperate USB ports?

or something else?

Don't know if this will help but I am on my 3rd Magic Mouse and only because I got one with the new 27" 5k iMac but I had 2 earlier ones I loved, on my MBP, both different OS, and after several months, each mouse just stopped working.

I was able to take it off the one it was set to and run it on another but no matter what i was unable to set them back to the original machine I had them set to.

I've had my 5k iMac since Xmas and I started to notice yesterday one key would not do anything when I hit it. Somehow I got it working and am noticing tonight that I am able to press the 9 key but I cant capitalize the same key for the bracket above. I will give it a day or two more and if it continues I will take it back to Apple for I have 3 others here on my various MBPs and never had an issue with those keyboards.

I remember when I had issues with the magic mouse before, there were a few having problems although I still think its a small percentage......

My keyboard and mouse are both connected to separate USB ports.

There isn't a fault with the keyboard and mouse itself, I think it's after some Yosemite updates that after I wake up the system after the sleep, the mouse and keyboard just becomes unresponsive even though I can see the light from the mouse.

FOrgot to mention that I have the iMac 27 (Late 2013) and ROCCAT gaming mouse, if that helps...

That rules out a single port or hub then.

Lets get this clear, do you wake the system (if so how), and a short time later the kbd and mouse stop responding? Or is it that you can't use the kbd or mouse to wake the system?

Ok, so after I put my system to sleep, I come back after a few hours and I hit a button on my keyboard or just click my mouse to wake it up. The system actually starts back up onto my login screen to type in my password, but then both the keyboard and mouse stops working after that lol so... i have no idea why that happens

Hmmm, so both are working then don't respond at login prompt - do you have any other bluetooth keyboard or mouse configured?

Once in that state how do you resolve it? If you reboot in Safe Mode does it still occur? (Don't know whether your mouse requires a special driver?)

No, I only use the keyboard and mouse that are connected through USB.

To fix it, I just restart the iMac and it works again.

Mouse is plug and play, it doesn't require drivers.

I never had problems like this on Mavericks
