Hello, I installed BootCamp 1.3 and have the following problems:

1.
I have an Italian keyboard. When I connect to a server via Remote Desktop or Citrix ICA Client the server changes the default keyboard from Italian to English (on the server I connect to). I can set the Italian keyboard as default but when I disconnect and then reconnect the English keyboard is again the default one.

2.
The Italian Keyboard of my MacBook has the \ and the < keys swapped. If I connect an external usb keyboard (Apple or non-Apple) the external keyboard is perfect. I had this problems with BootCamp 1.1 and 1.2 too.

Can anyone help me with these problems?

best regards

Alessandro

With regards to question 1, i think its a simple case of the server being able to dictate the default keyboard settings - that's something you'd change on the server side if you have rights, otherwise get used to switching between the keyboards whenever you need to.

With regards to question 2, have you checked if the language bar settings are for Apple Italian Keyboard, and not another setting?

For example, in XP via bootcamp for me, i've got the language bar saying its got 2 keyboard layouts for me. English (UK), which is what i asked for when i installed the OS, and UK (Apple), which is what i need for the machine...

Let me know how you go, i've had the keyboard problem before and its now fixed - i'm battling restart problems now

Hello,

Question 1: even if I change the settings on the server side everytime I connect to the server the client changes the keyboard on the server. This only happens when a client with BootCamp 1.3 connects. With BootCamp 1.2 or any other pc client connecting the problems does not happen. Thus, there is something wrong with the way BootCamp 1.3 manages the keyboard.

Is there a way to revert back to 1.2 keyboard management?

Question 2: I already checked, I'm using Italian (Apple) keyboard.

Best regards

Alessandro

Similar problems with Vista and BootCamp 1.3

I am experiencing a problem with the Language Bar not appearing in the task bar as it used to do prior to Installing the new drivers with BootCamp 1.3.

I have a MacBook Pro with a Spanish keyboard, but have installed both Engish (UK) and Spanish and used to be able to switch input languages from the language bar on the task bar.

I noticed that after installing the updated drivers, other things now work with my MacBookPro , like the function keys to control brightness and print screen, volume, etc. However the Language Bar is gone, I have checked the language bar settings to no avail.

I have Windows Vista Home Premium edition installed.

If you know any solution please let me know, hope you can find a solution to the keyboard mapping.

Ciao and grazie.

Yeah i couldnt get the language bar to come back in 1.3 either; part of the reason why i decided to work on getting 1.2 to work properly again. i'm hoping there is a final release before/with Leopard, that will hopefully have fixed these minor things...

Mine is working now

I reinstalled Windows XP and then update Windows Vista and my Language bar with Spanish and English keyboard now appears on Windows Vista. I am not sure how this happened but a fresh installed did the trick. I think that Apple would need to fix a few issues with Boot Camp before the release of Leopard in October, but for the most part works just fine. Good luck everyone. :apple:
