iPhone Keyboard replacement with Emoji

In previous versions when typing I used to get the option to replace the word with emoji, however I dont see it anymore. Anyone else?

at one time i used to get suggestions for emoji as well. but that stopped many years ago but i was using non-apple keyboards mostly.
i have recently begun to use apple's slide-to-type and i would like to again get these replacements.
how to get them to appear? i can't find any setting that would turn it on.
i have both English (USA) and Emoji keyboards.
