Just came across an app called CheatSheet which provides an on-screen guide to keyboard shortcuts. Looks handy, but isn't in the App Store which bothers me. Did a search here. Found some, but not much mention. One member installed it then had difficulty uninstalling it. My questions are: is there an Apple approved app? Is there some way to show shortcuts just from the basic computer itself (no app required)?

Well, anything accessible through the menu bar will show its relevant keyboard shortcut next to the menu bar item. You can search with the help menu.
In System Preferences under keyboard you can view all shortcuts and set your own.

Thank you! Did not know that!
