This is very annoying, but sometimes the letter 'o' will not type!

For instance, if I am typing the name Russo, the o will not register on the keyboard. It will either show I or P.

If I hold down when the I comes up and try to drag my finger over the O, it will not show. It will only let me go to I or P.

type "optonline" and the 2nd O will not show. I have to let it type the wrong letter and backspace to fix it.

I didn't see this in the bugs thread, so excuse me if I missed it.

Can someone else try typing those words (and maybe others)?

Other words work, like willow.

I dont get why some words it ignores the o.

This is a known bug with the iphone. The letter "o" is not the problem, but the word is. You can type the word by making a mistake, backspacing, then writing the letter you want.

For example, try spelling "spondylolysthesis", or for that matter, just "spond." You will not be allowed to type the "d" no matter how hard you try. If, however, you type it incorrectly, you can go back and fix it.

This would likely be solved if you could add a word to the dictionary, but alas, you can't.

It's not a bug - it's the autocorrect. The iPhone thinks it knows what word you're typing and will make a key bigger on the keyboard than it normally is in this case. I get this all the time with my last name, which apparently is one letter off from petrol, and then I have to backspace in order to get the correct letter.

To demonstrate this, type the word you want and hit a key on either side of the one you intend to type. Depending on where you're aiming, you'll get the letter that the iPhone thinks you ultimately want.

The best way to get around this is to add the word as a name to a contact. The iPhone will recognize it that way.

This isnt really accurate. If you hold your finger on the keyboard and move it around, it will change to the letter you are over. In this case, if you move your finger around, that letter you want is not selectable. It does not come up. It does not allow you to pick it. My last name is in the dictionary and it will not let me pick the O as the last letter.
