When I am attempting to install Microsoft XP on Boot Camp the keyboard won't work. I have tried plugging in a USB keyboard but it didn't work either. I can't get beyond the screen that lets me choose which operating system from the disc I want to install.
Can anybody tell me how to get the keyboard working when I am trying to install the operating system in Boot Camp.
Thanks

If it is the wireless keyboard you can't, the driver in the install is lacking the minimal driver for bluetooth. Make sure your keyboard is plugged in BEFORE you reboot. Windows install does not always like hot plugged devices. If it was already plugged in I am not sure what else could be wrong and hopefully someone else who had this problem can help further.

Thanks for your ideas. Unfortunately the keyboard won't work even if I plug it in and restart the machine before starting up Boot Camp. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

a probably stupid question but how does it work with a mouse?

is the mouse recognized? and have you installed the boot camp drivers yet?

My (new type) wired keyboard works (almost) The CD eject key doesn't open the tray on my Mac Pro.

I can however open the tray by going through Windows Explorer (eject).

SORRY: I know this isn't addressing the initial problem, but thought it may be of interest ...

When I load the disc it comes up with a screen to choose between different Windows XP installation options. There is nowhere for the mouse to work so I don't know if it works at all.
Where do I find the Boot Camp Drivers?

I see...so you haven't installed windows yet...now that is troublesome without a keyboard.
the bootcamp drivers are on your leopard install disk and you are supposed to install them after windows is installed on your boot camp partition.

Have you tried starting the boot camp install from scratch again? meaning deleting the partition and using the boot camp assistant again?

Thanks for the suggestion. I gave it a go but it didn't help. I don't know what the problem is.
