Hello all - hoping someone has the answer to this! I have a number of external hard drives which need to be encrypted and the passwords are stored in my Keychain. I also have the encryption password saved elsewhere in case I need them. I have just taken delivery of a new iMac and when I first mount the hard drives on it, it asks me to enter the passwords. This is fine except that for one of the hard drives, I cannot find the password for it anywhere! The password is saved on my keychain on my MacBook, so when I use it, my MacBook doesn't ask for the password. So my question is - can I access the password for this hard drive in Keychain somewhere in the same was that I would if I wanted a Safari password that is saved in Keychain? MY MacBook obviously knows the password. I really need to be able to access this hard drive using my iMac and don't want to have to have to format it.

You should be able to run Keychain Access on your MacBook, search for that hard drive by name, and then click on its Show Password box. You can then manually enter that password on the other machine.

Thank you! I will give this a go
