Hi All,

This is an issue I have been struggling with for quite a time. I can only open a keynote file form the file>open recent menu. Double click, or right click>open with>Keynote options do not work. When I double click on a file, the typical pop-out animation starts suggesting the file is actually opening, but no further response therafter. I have observed the same problem on my late 2014 Imac and 2018 13" Macbook pro, both running Mojave. Any suggestions? Thanks!

That’s very weird! When you go to Open With, what happens if you choose “Other…” and find Keynote in the Applications folder that way? Does that work? I wonder if the “Keynote” you are choosing is some old version that doesn’t exist anymore.

I seem to remember there is some database for keeping track of which applications to open which files in, so it might be worth researching what that is (Launch Services, I think?) and how to rebuild it.

[doublepost=1564128406][/doublepost]Thanks for your reply. My keynote is version 9.1 and always updated. And yes, when you choose Keynote after “open with” the file does not open.
