Keynote Keyboard Lag (iPad Pro)

For the past 30 minutes, I have been working on a keynote presentation on my iPad Pro and the keyboard lag is horrendous! The typing input lag is delayed and will often add additional characters. The oddest part of this whole thing, is that it doesn’t seem to matter whether I use the onscreen keyboard or the apple Smart Keyboard. Additionally, the text input lag only occurs within keynote....

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Below is the attempted trouble shooting I have attempted:
-restarted the iPad
-restarted keynote
-checked keynote updates in AppStore (everything is up to date)
-checked for IOS updates (again, everything is up to date)

Anyone have any suggestions, apart from switching to my laptop (ha, if I was home I would have already switched over)?

Is this happening in all keynote files or just in one particular one?
