Since the Mac Pro doesn't come with Front Row :-( I purchased the following:
KeySpan Front Row remote from amazon for $30:

Media Central from equinux:

Everything seems to work pretty well and the software is quite impressive as a nice alternative to Front Row. I use it on my 50" Plasma via DVI/HDMI hooked up as a second monitor. The problem though is that on the Mac Pro the middle menu button doesn't go back to the previous menu like it does when running on my Mac Book Pro. I have seen several people on these boards mention using this remote as a solution for the Mac Pro and Front Row replacement so I was wondering if you guys were able to get this fixed. I hate jumping up from the couch and running to my keyboard to hit "esc" to navigate back to the previous menu. Everything else seems to work fine but not being able to go "back" really sucks.

Apple + esc should launch frontrow on the Mac Pro. No remote though. :(
That doesn't work unfortunately. I even tried launching the FrontRow app in the CoreServices folder, no go. Basically like it's there but not there at the same time.

Alternative for me so far is the Keyspan FrontRow remote and iTheater (it's open source), doesn't have the resume feature like FrontRow, but that's fine.

Does your middle "menu" buttons give you any problems? Mine works fine except when I want to navigate back to a previous menu. This is what I am trying to fix.

Do you mean the play/pause/selection button (that's in the middle)? Or the Menu button in the upperr right hand corner?

At least in iTheater, using the play/pause/selecttion and Menu button doesn't do anything. To select a folder, I have to hit the fast forward button. If I want to go back, I have to use the rewind button.

I haven't tried MediaCentral yet.

Sorry yeah I guess it is the top right menu button that in front row navigates back to the previous menu and in Media Central it doesn't. Like I said it works fine on my MacBook Pro with MediaCentral but not on the Mac Pro.
