Kindle Paperwhite 2014 vs. 2015

I have the 2014 (212 ppi) version of the Paperwhite and now of course there is the 300 ppi 2015 version on sale for $99. Anyone used/own both? Wondering if the extra ppi really makes a difference for reading non-illustrated novels where the only illustration is usually the cover art? I could sell my Kindle back to Amazon for $40-44 but would rather not be put through the hassle and chance of a bad backlight if the increased PPI doesn't make much of a noticeable difference.

I have the 2014 and would prefer the higher resolution 2015 but not enough to pay $40 for it. I suspect the higher resolution is a bit nicer, but I wonder if you notice it once you get into a book. You could get some informed answers on KBoards.

The resolution isn't that different in practice. I had the 2014 paper white and marked the screen... I sold it as I could see it when reading. I bought a touch, the cheapest one. REALLY bad resolution so... I sold it too and got the 2015 paper white.

The actual noticeable thing is the speed. Hope this helps.
