hi just wondering if someone can test the kindle app running split view (two apps at the same time) in landscape with notes or some sort of note taking app?

I’m looking to pick up an iPad 10.5 and want to use the kindle app with notes or an equivalent but I’ve read it doesn’t support split view.

Could someone give it a definitive test and paste some screen grabs up.

Thank you

It does not work. Every update to the app I test it to see if they implemeted it, and it doesn't.

That said, for my text books I get on Kindle, I use Apprentice Alf's Calibre tools to break the DRM on them and import them into iBooks so I can do this.

Ahh that answers my question then. What a shame, I’d have been totally sold if it was supported. I’ll hang back until Amazon sort their the kindle app out.

Don't hold your breath.

That said, you can take notes in the Kindle app and export them via the Amazon web page.

Yea I’ve read on a few other places Amazon don’t really seem to care much about updating the app. I’ve read a few people using the amazon web reader as an alternative to use split view with notes etc. I’ve just tried web reader on my mini and it’s seems ok but lacks some functionality and the rendering quality doesn’t look as good as the native app.

I use my iPad to study so was really hoping to use the native kindle app and notes with the pencil.

Another point to consider is that the Kindle app still scales on the 10.5 iPad. I don't have one so I can't comment on whether that makes much of a difference or not.

Does this work on the latest AZW3 yet?

I don't know. I also have a physical Kindle. I have that serial number tied into the plug-in and download the the version of the book tied to that serial number from Amazon.

I have not had any issues doing this in a long time. I did have some problems with the Mac and PC versions of the Kindle app doing this, though.
