Just got the official email from Apple saying that the store would open this Saturday, 7/26 at 10:00 am. As usual, t-shirts will be given out to the first 1000 guests.

Me too, just got it. I would love to go down there, just don't know about the crowds and parking.
Where was the store when I needed my iPhone 3G. Mine is still on order with AT&T.

You can bet the Charleston Apple Store won't have any iPhone stock when it opens, but they might. It'll be worth checking the website Friday night to see if it even shows up. I'm just excited to finally have a place to take my laptop (other than Charlotte) if I ever need service.
Actually, I hear they will have new iPhones.
As for transportation, I'd suggest taking CARTA. They'll drop you off at Marion Square which isn't a terribly bad walk to and from the Apple Store.
Barring that, there's the garages on St. Phillips street.
I will be there. How big of a crowd do you think there might be? I was trying to figure out what time to go.
They open at 10, which unfortunately gives plenty of time for a really long line to form.
