Kirikae and Backgrounder Install Crash issues?

Good afternoon all,

Okay, with the help of several people here, I've finally JB'd my 3G phone successfully to 3.1 WITH Cycorder not crashing anymore.

Now, though, I want to install Kirikae and Backgrounder. However, everytime I re-spring from the installs, it goes into safe mode. I've tried re-springing, re-booting but I always end up with a sad mac in safe mode.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what can I do to get these apps working on my iphone?

Did you try installing one at a time, then reboot, then see if it crashes. If not, get the other one.

At least that way you would see which one (if not both) is creating the problem

I actually did do that. I learned the hard way a long time ago to only install one Cydia app at a time, then re-spring, boot, etc.

Both apps cause it to crash for some reason. When I remove both apps from the system, everything works fine again on a re-spring.

Any ideas?

You are not alone. It seems the latest backgrounder update has caused the issue of crashing to safemode. If you go to cydia and search backgrounder (don't install) scroll down to "view user comments" you will see that every1 is having the same problem after update took effect. Kirike works good on it's own & is real fast for switchn apps (I just keep all my apps in favs & switch between without relyin on springboard) tho obviously nothing will remain backgrounded....for now!!

Sorry, no idea as both are working for me.

I can tell you there is a new launcher hopefully available today from BB repo called PogoPlank.

I watched a video of it, it seems impresssive.

Just checked, not out yet. Hopefully later today.

Same here. Fine with 3.0.1.

Yes, when I was on 3.0.1, they both worked fine.
But now, I am on 3.1 and they both crash me to safe mode.

I just installed Kirikae today. Had Backgrounder for a while.
It has crashed a view times and put me into Safe Mode.
However, when I restart, all of my apps are out of order .. I think this is because I have Five Column SpringBoard (FCSB).

actually, i found the reason all my apps kept crashing in another thread.
long story short, i was using an old cydia version, for lack of a better explanation.
