I'm in the market for a pair of speakers.

First I was thinking I would need a 2.1 system, but I would be fine with a descent 2.0 system.

Is there anyone on MR, who has the Klipsch Promedia 2.0 and is willing to share his/her experience?

thx

I've had the 2.1's about 2 years now. I couldn't be more satisfied with them. The sound is rich and quite easily fills the room. The speakers are very solid and should serve your needs for years to come. No problems with my set to date. I'd purchase them again, no regrets.

I own both the 2.1's and the 2.0's.
Definitely buy the 2.1's, they sound ALOT better.

Thanks for the advice!

Now I only need to find a dealer in Bristol, UK.

Best of luck with that - you'll need it.

The Klipsch distributor for the UK is TNS Distribution, who are based in Ireland. They were unable to source me a set of regular ProMedia 2.1 speakers when I spoke with them a few months back, but I seem to recall that the GMX A-2.1 product was available. I'd be interested to know how you get on.

i have some white JBL duet 2.0 speakers that i bought refurbished for $9.50 off eBay. i bought them mainly for their looks and how well they matched my iMac and of course the price, even if it is refurbished. the sound definately exceeded my expectations for both music and movies and is completely good enough for me, although some people might want a sub for extra bass.

the only thing i absolutely hate is how my cell phone can't be in the same room without causing all this horrible static and interference! i've emailed JBL to see if it's just a problem i'm having or if that is normal for these speakers but it is ridiculous how i have to unplug my speakers just to answer a phone call. i thought they were magnetically shielded but now i don't know...

the other speakers i was looking at were the Bose Companions, but opted for the JBLs at the last minute for price and looks.
