Has anyone tried one of the knockoff smart covers available on amazon or eBay for the mini? Are any of them any good? I just got a mini and would like a Smart Cover style case, but can't bring myself to drop $40 on a plastic flap with some magnets.

I got an 11.95 one on eBay. It looked fantastic because its black but the problem was the hinge magnet was so weak that when I'd use it as a stand it would come right off.
If anyone has a link to a good one then please share. I already have one Apple brand version but we need another and $40 is such a rip for what it is.

Got this. I think it may actually be genuine Apple product that the seller might have bought in bulk for a deep discount from one of the Chinese factories??t he strong magnet is fully covered, it fits, looks, feels nice, is kind of like a short nap suede on the inside, and it came in a nice white Apple-like box. The hinge will want to come off if fussing to stand the mini on an uneven surface. Note: I have never seen the genuine article.
