I'm a die-hard Lakers fan and Celtics will win in 6. Kobe lit you guys up and the team still found a way to lose.
Kobe always finds a way to score. Just not always a way to win. People doubted (or hated) the C's all year, but the truth is they find ways to win as a team. Not too shabby opponents either (Wade, LeBron, Howard, now Kobe). Playoffs were great this year.
But back on topic: After Tuesday Mr. Bryant can surely read all about how the Celtics beat the Lakers (again) on his 3G iPad from wherever he's vacationing to get away from L.A. ...and on the 24th he can watch plenty of highlights of himself, on his iPhone 4 retina display, scoring 30-40 points/game and still losing to the best defense in the league (again). He's arrogant like that.
I think he needs an iPhone more than an iPad to call up his teammates to show up in Game 5. As a Lakers fan, that game was painful to watch. Kobe wasted so much energy scoring, only to have his teammate not play defense and let the Celts score easy buckets. But regardless if they win or lose, the iPhone 4 comes out next week!
Celtics/Lakers. I feel like I've seen this movie before. When the NBA has some new material, let me know.
Don't hate on the rivalry. This is possibly the best rivalry in professional sports. And only since the '08 season have the Celtics renewed the bad blood after a couple decade hiatus. This is good for the NBA.
Did you watch the game? He passed very well in the first half, but his teammates weren't hitting the shots. The Lakers scored 39 points in the first half.
So he took over in the 3rd. If it weren't for him, Celtics would have ran away with it. Even Celtics fan Figbash would attest to that.
I would for the most part, because Kobe IS the Lakers. But as a Celtics fan I've been more concerned about Gasol's improvement than Kobe. Kobe will be Kobe. Nonetheless, there is a "WE NOT ME" mentality that prevails in championship series. And, right now, the C's exemplify this. The Lakers, eh...not so much. But I can see what trip1ex is saying. And if you've ever played on any team with a great player, you know that it's great to have that weapon, but after time (and when times are tough) it wears on the rest of the team and they live and die by that one guy or just lose confidence all together. I think it effected LA's defense more than anything. Kobe may score all the points, but it's impossible to defend a solid team with just one guy. Period. I expect Gasol and Odom to step up in the Staples Center. But it might be too late.
