I think I found my next travel cam: Kodak V705

I was looking for something compact that can replace my film Pentax Espio 24EW.

It has a 23/2.8 lens and a 39-117 lens (2 sensors). I think I can manage with the gap if nothing better comes up before my next trip.

No aperture or shutter priority, as usual with ultracompacts.

Hmm... NO RAW. NO compression options and it seems that it compresses too much.

I could not find a review for the V705 but here are two reviews for a similar two lens V610.

Personally I think that the two lenses are a gimmick that will not survive too much longer. These cameras make many compromises to squeeze two sensors into an ultra compact case. Most notable are usability and image quality. I strongly think that at the end of the day having nice pictures is more important than a flashy looking camera. There are many other compact and sub-compact cameras with one lens that will give you more pleasing pictures. You make a comment about RAW so I assume that image quality matters to you. Just my opinion about this particular camera.

If you want advice on a good small camera a search of the forums will find many threads on this subject. Best of luck with your camera hunt. :)

I want 24mm. The only other options are Kodak P880 and Coolpix 8400. They are too big.
It should fit in loose jeans front pockets, but it doesn't have to be as small as the V705.

Ah I see. :) The V705 is niche camera and you certainly fit into that niche. I just read a review on the V570 which appears to be just like the V705 with a lower resolution.

Overall if shooting ultra-wide is what you absolutely need than you are right, this camera is the only one that meets all of your requirements. You make compromises for that 24mm lens, but if that's okay I say go for it. :)
