Kodi on Apple TV 3?

I have an Apple TV 3 and with the new Apple TV 4 out and no hope for any future updates for my Apple TV 3, I wanted to look into installing Kodi on it like I did on my Firestick. Can this be done? I have tried googling and there seems to be very little consistent information.
 
As far as I understand, that's mission impossible....sorry
