iPad Pro Kuo's Prediction on 2019 iPad Pro's ?

The report yesterday by Ming Chi Kuo is confusing to me, he says there will be two new iPad Pro's in 2019 but then he says it would be 10.2" and a iPad Mini right guys ? So does it mean there will be also improvements to the 11" and 12.9" iPad Pro's ?

Yet, we saw a complete overhaul of iPad Pro in 2018 with Liquid Retina and Face ID. The refresh in 2019 will likely be a processor/memory/Face ID update.

Kuo is sometimes slightly off on his release timings. These be pros could already be in development but might not be released until 2020 (more in line with the slightly longer refresh cycle iPad pros have had to date)

No, he stated in addition to a 10.2 iPad and iPad mini that there would be two new iPad Pro's. I'd be surprised if they released new Pro's so soon but who knows, its possible.

Yep 2017 and 2018 there is 18 month gap between them.

The 2017 model released in June 2017, the 2018 model came out in almost December of 2018.

But not really overkill..Only overkill because of the iOS that is holding it back makes it this way. I myself can appreciate the power, I am not a apple fan boy and never have been. This was the first iPad I’ve ever owned, or tablet in general. I love the cpu performance in Adobe Rush, but I feel like that is the only application I have that actually does use my iPads performance. But, that is the main reason I bought it.

A file system would be nice too, and maybe we could press and hold our space bar and a cursor appears lol. Who cares if the iPad takes over a percentage of the MacBook sales. Unfortunately we are already in that direction anyways, phasing out desktops and such.

Regardless, I am hopeful! I really love the new iPad, I’m in the process of buying the 1TB version of what I currently have. So, whatever happens happens. I like it either way, and the iPad Pro works pretty good for me and I’m sticking with it.

Consider that the iPhone X was on the market for just over 10 months before being replaced by iPhone XS.

No other product in Apple's portfolio is as large as iPhone. But that doesn't preclude the 9.7" iPad or the Watch from getting annual updates.

From Apple's perspective, if new hardware and software are ready for a new product, they will launch it. That's what a technology leader does.

I don't think an Apple development team would say, "Tim, I know TSMC can fab our A13X on EUV and Lumentum can make the dot projector better, but we shouldn't launch a new iPad Pro yet because it hasn't been 15 months since our previous launch."

It's too thin, it bends. That's why there is a possibility of upgraded PRO models. Hope they arrive before summer.

Though I started this thread seeking clarification, noways do I think even remotely that Apple will release a iPad Pro as in successor to the 11" and 12.8" in 2019 that is way way too early !!

While I’m sure apple can do it, they may have all of there attention thinking about the new iPhones instead. I honestly just want to see a massive software overhaul for the iPad. For now at least.

And yea, there is such a thing as too thin lol. 5.9MM is pretty extreme.

Never had any bending issues with my iPad, other then being a cellular model and appearing curved starring closely down a edge. I’ve checked it 3 times since owning it with instruments, and it is still very much straight and looks straight.

As for serious bending that’s happening with the iPads, it is easy to bend one permanently by accident. I’d say only 30lbs of pressure on any area of it in a bag can bow the entire iPad. Especially the 12.9” models, they are just as thin only longer and wider.

This is just an educated guess, but im going to say at the earliest we will see new Ipad Pro's will be NEXT Spring (2020) but more likely fall of 2020.

They just put out the new pros, and yes they do have a bending issue, but so did the iPhone 6s and they dident do a recall or redesign so soon, they simply used stronger aluminum in the next generation and toted it as a "Feature"

For apple to put out a new iPad Pro this year, would piss off a ton of fans and buyers and IMHO the full potential of the current pros havent even been tapped into yet, and i fully expect them to be "Unlocked" as it were in terms of functionality with IOS 13.

What we are most likely getting is new pro features on the standard ipads like pencil support. IF apple does put out a new mini with pencil support i will be getting that alongside a 12.9 pro.

The pro will be attached to the upcomming brydge keyboard and never leave the desk, where i will get the mini in a cell configuration and be my drone flight screen and "Field Notebook" as it were, being the more portable of the two.

This way i totally reduce the risk of bending the pro which i will use in conjunction with my imac to do various photoshop style editing and the like, while the mini be my digital notepad as it were.

If the new Pros in 2020 are basically the same plus a spec bump, better cameras and stronger aluminum, then ill gladly trade in the two for an all in one device. Until then, for me i figure thats my best option.

#1. Whatever CPU improvements are they will stay at 7nm and 8 Cores that not gonna change.
#2. It’s NOT gonna be OLED based LG or Samsung would have an Order for Millions of OLED panels and we would have heard about it.
#3. Whatever improvements are offered would be minuscule.
#4. The Only way I buy a new iPad Pro is In 2021 IF the display is MicroLED or OLED based.

Nah...the worst update ever was the iPad mini 2 to 3... that will be hard to top even of the only upgrade is to an A13x processor.
