L2TP VPN and Dynamic DNS

Has anyone tried setting put an L2TP VPN connection?

Since Sierra/iOS 10 removes PPTP I switched over to L2TP with my Ubiquiti EdgeRouter. Trying to set up the L2TP connection it doesn't like that I'm trying to use a dynamic DNS address, won't let me create the configuration because it wants an actual IP address. I assume this is an oversight/bug and plan on submitting feedback.

Connects fine on my iPhone running iOS 10 BTW.

Just so you don't wonder if you're alone here, I've got the same issue. Likewise, it connects fine from my phone, but not via my MBP.

People love the EdgeRouters, but I find their frequent firmware updates often break configurations that used to work perfectly.

I have not been able to use L2TP since v1.8 has been released (I use it for macs only running 10.11), PTPP is not secure.... I have fallen back to using PTPP but I am not happy about it. If you look in the bunt forums, this is not an uncommon problem.

And I have had issues with the VLAN behaviours changing with the upgrades with for no apparent reason.

I am thinking about reseting the router and rebuilding the ruleset but that's a bigger job than I have time for right now and it is in a production environment and I don't have a backup box to swap out.
