Where do I find someone local in LA/OC to upgrade to 16gb ram, update to catalina, change the battery for a 2012 retina? This machine will be in use by a light user, and I prefer to keep it in the family instead of selling it, if it makes financial sense. Thanks.

Unless I'm mistaken, the RAM in the 2012 MacBook Pro retina models is soldered in and IS NOT upgradeable.

Upgrade to Catalina? Do it yourself.

The battery is getting low?
My first choice would be to take it to an Apple Store, and see if they can replace it.
Cost will be $199 for the battery, installation, and a short warranty.
Not a bad deal.

I prefer someone who can do it same day because apple will ship them out and one of the machines is still in use. Plus, trips to the apple store aren't fun.

I can replace the battery myself as well but I prefer someone local. I figure there are thousands of people like this in my area but I just need to find a place to get in contact with them. Any suggestions?
