I can't access a large chunk of my Lacie Porsche drive without Finder hanging.

I tried to repair the disk in Disk Utility and got this...

Verify and Repair disk “FW 250”
Checking HFS Plus volume.
Checking Extents Overflow file.
Checking Catalog file.
Invalid key length
Volume check failed.

Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit

1 HFS volume checked
1 volume could not be repaired because of an error

help!

My suggestion would be to get a recovery application like Data Rescue X from ProSoft Engineering. I used it when I was having HD problems and it worked like a charm.

You can recover the data off that section of the drive, and then, unfortunately, you may need to reformat the backup drive.
