I bought a Phillips 250gb ext hard drive recently for my iMac G5.
Itunes would freeze frequenly when playing music from my external hard drive, crashing the mac.

I got my money back off of that and have been told that Lacie hard drives work well with macs, so i'm planning on buying one.

Are there any specific hard drive/hard drive specs i should look for?

Thanks

I am very happy with my LaCie d2 Extreme 250GB (old model with only FW400/800). Rugged and reliable. Just make sure you format as HFS+ (not Windows FAT32) and use FW instead of USB in your daily use with a mac. (FW does not put so much workload on the CPU as USB, and I really do not like FAT32 unless you REALLY need to frequently connect the drive to various pc's).
