hello all.

I habe an 8+ and i am having some lag im safari.

Suppose you are reading something on MR and you swipe right in safari to go back to previous page, my iphone lags for about 2 to 3 seconds and becomes unresponsive.

Is it just me or anyone else facing this problem!?

Btw i am on 11.2 beta 4, but have had this lag since first day i got the phone

Ios 11.1.2 has a lot of lags . I accept to have a slower phone but not to have lag. It feels like an android phone.

It's what Safari does. I have the same problem on my laptop - it's really bad on some forums such as the TV reviewer site forums.digitalspy.com. If I swipe back from a topic the forum topics list redraws quickly giving the false impression I can scroll and select another one. Except it's frozen. And it stays frozen for a couple of seconds before refreshing, after which it decides to take my scrolling actions and apply them, randomly jumping around before stopping and opening a thread I didn't intend to click on. Other websites can be bad, but forums are the worst.

In fact, I found it so annoying that I'm testing out a switch to Firefox since Quantum came out. I've been using it exclusively for a week now (the Nightly version) and I think I'm going to stick with it. It's very customisable (via userchrome.css) and I've managed to get it almost how I like. The one thing about it I don't like is pinch to zoom is awful.

If I hear that Safari solves the swipe-back issue I'll probably switch back to it, mainly due to its integration with stuff like keychain and text replacements. Firefox won't use either of those and it's password remembering function seems flakey to me.

This exactly. Isn't every single Safari user experiencing this? I have it on my 9.7 Pro and I'm on 9.3.4. I don't think my iPad is the issue, neither is iOS 11. Maybe it's Safari itself. Haven't tried Chrome on my iPad, though. And I didn't try on my Mac although I should. It happens (though for some reason the freeze lasts less) on my 7+ running iOS 10.3.1.

Safari did this in previous iOS versions too and it’s one of the top things I wish Apple would improve. Bugs come and go - this appears to be a side effect of the way Safari handles page rendering.
