Im really wondering why apple has never even attempted at making a Landscape SMS update or another company making a app for it seriously id pay even $20 for it im used to the current keyboard now but id love to text with my thumbs

Weird. I find it easier to text with thumbs...in portrait mode.

I'm sure Apple decided against landscape for SMS for a reason...after all, based on the wwdc event (and what I know) they'd just have to add a couple lines.

I agree, why hasn't this happened yet? Seriously?

The portrait keyboard is too cramped, I can make it work, but I would much prefer at least having the option between the two. Also, why is the widescreen keyboard available in safari where ironically you are doing the least amount of typing? Seriously, what the hell?

The SDK doesn't allow someone else to create an app to do this sadly.

As to why Apple hasn't sorted it yet when it's so obvious and easy, who knows? There's a massive list of things like that.

Because you can already use landscape in there. Imagine if you were in landscape, went to enter a new website or type in a search field or whatever, and it turned back vertically to type. It has no choice but to be in landscape mode in Safari.
