So I ventured into the youtube rabbit-hole, and ended up in a place where half of the videos were where someone had obviously started recording at the most convenient and fastest orientation for them to start rolling the camera - portrait!
So, I ask, is there any really good reason why we can't just shoot landscape video in portrait orientation given that resolution of the cameras is genuinely not an issue these days and obviously the cameras can shoot both orientations at full res.
I can't see any drawbacks and only massive benefits to being able to change what you want the default setting to be from within preferences and in-app.
It's genuinely disturbing to me that many "important" newsworthy, sometimes historical, videos are being shot and shared whilst losing for the viewer context completely as half the video is literally "missing".
