I travel and am looking for the best means for translating different languages on and offline. I understand iPad air mini with a translation app may be a possibility. I don't even have a cellphone so breaking into completely new territory. Speech recognition is a plus but realize that is limited to online. Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

Get a device..(You might call a phone).. download Google Translate APP... then before your trip, load whatever languages you will likely translate on your trip.. which will translate without the need to be connected to internet. With this APP, you can speak to someone in English and it will translate to the language you chose and then it will "listen for the response" and translate the response back to English. It is truly awesome.
