Hello everyone.

I‘m trying to figure out how to use my laptop screen as a second monitor.

My laptop is Intel based running Mojave.

Current system is a Mac Mini M2 running Ventura - which is connected to a Dell 27” USBC monitor using the HDMI port.

Thanks for any assistance on this

I think this is what I’m trying to accomplish.

Would a powered hub do this?

Thanks

No. The data flows over the network. The network could be WiFi or Ethernet. Ethernet would be more reliable.

Apple also allows networking over point-to-point Thunderbolt but I've never used that.

A second display like this works OK for stuff that need not be fast. In my case, I'm writing software or working on 3D CAD. I can edit on the main screen and keep reference material on the second networked screen as there is some amount of lag.
