I know this may seem comical at best, bu I've seen on eBay some Wallstreets and clamshells going for like $150, I am thinking of getting an old Apple so I can use it for school, and I'm on like a really, extemely small budget of some savings, what is the smallest I could pay, for a reasonable laptop used?

At least for the clamshell I think you should expect to pay $150-200. And just quickly looking at ebay it looks like that pricing range isn't unusual. Ebay always makes me kind of nervous though.

Yeah, most were featchy, no batteries, no chargers, missing parts etc

I would be wary of purchasing a computer off of eBay. eBay is good for smaller items, but just a bit too risky for a purchase of that size, IMO. I realize you are looking for a 1-$200 laptop, not a 1-$2000 laptop, but I've had a few negative experiences with eBay so perhaps I'm a bit jaded.

what reasource should I use, without stumbling back into Bill Gates piggy bank, (aka, PC)

Look at the MR marketplace, im_to_hyper had a bunch of wallstreets for $75 each.

Nothing good on that for San Diego, any oher ideas? not even one Powerbook, all iPods

CraigsList is one option.

I would also watch out because they still have fake listings...

But I would check out the marketplace or try to find one local so you can see the condition it is in.

oh, thanks.

It dosen't look like I can find one, at least easily, and woking well. If anyone has anything, PM or post it here, thank you for the forum suggestions, MacNN seems to not have anything also
