Sorry if this has been asked/covered/metioned elsewhere. I did a quick search and couldn't find anything hence the reason for the new post.

I'm after something that I can rest my Macbook on whilst I use it on the bed or sitting on the floor (preferably that can be purchased from within the UK as I hate having to wait ages for products shipped from abroad!). I know that if I use it resting on the bed it can cause heat issues. At the moment I'm sitting on my bed and the Macbook is resting on top of the cardboard box it came in! I could continue to use the box but I don't think it was designed and manufactured for this purpose :D .

I've had a look on Google and couldn't find anything that caught my eye and also checked Ebay but got no decent results. Has anyone come across any good value, decent quality product made for this purpose? Thanks in advance.

Atif

iCurve, I think thats what its called.

I've had a quick look at that - it looks really nice but I don't think it looks like it would be suited to resting on a bed or floor - I think its made more for desks and "flatter" surfaces. Unless anyone can correct me?

for in bed i just use a small laptop cooler bought on ebay (10 euro or something). It is flat, has 3 fans and powers on usb. Keeps my MBP nice and cool.

No, the iCurve is not designed to be used on a bed. It should be placed on a desk or other hard surface. I have one and find it to be a great accessory for my MacBook Pro. :)

I agree. I have an iCurve and they are great for desks and flat hard surfaces. I use it constantly at home and at work, it's so simple and elegant, you hardly notice it there!

For beds and laps etc you probably want something more like the iLap.

I like the look of it and if had more money would get one!

iLap would probably work nicely for you atiffarooq. :)

I've got a a piece of wood (the ones you chop vegetables in the kitchen)! Just $5 and is all you'll ever need!

iLap

I use the iLap. Do a search on google for the iLap and it will take you to the official website where you can order one direct. They are a little spendy, but well worth the money.

This is exactly what I was after - thanks for the help - now I just have to wait until they release a model for the 13.3" Macbook. I've spoken to some suppliers and they say that it should be out by mid-August.
