LAPTOP to IPOD connector for CAR

Hey,

So My moms new car as an ipod hookup built into it, problem is it is ONLY the ipod dock connector, NO aux 1/4th inch or micro plug.

Is there any backwards converter that would stream audio out of my laptop or other mp3 player into the radio through the radio's ipod dock?

The dock connector is all you need. You didn't mention the make or model so I can't look it up, but I would look for an iPod button or AUX, maybe?

Its a Jetta 2006, and we can buy an ipod adapter for it, which plugs into the ipod. I want something that will plug into that and my laptop.

so, it will go

car to ipod male, to ipod female (the one on the bottom on an ipod) to laptop. Sound coming off the laptop

If you or someone you know is technically inclined, you could try making an adapter. This thread has some details about what you'd want to do.

I install car audio goodies as a hobby. I have not seen a plug to do what you want. Basically you would need the bottom of the ipod type of plug, which they do not sell... as far as I know...

1/4" plug, holy ****. what do you wanna play a guitar in her car or something? haha. I have no clue about why you would want to plug your MBP instead of your ipod though... unless you had a 4 GB nano or somethin... but good luck.

bingo! that what i really want!!

1/4th inch would be awesome cause that way i could hook a mic up to it or a guitar or things like that
